Laying the Ghost
7.30 pm
Tuesday 23rd - Saturday 27th
February 2010
Village Hall
The next production of the East Bridgford Drama Group is
Laying the Ghost a comedy by
Simon Williams.
East Bridgford Drama Group’s next production is set in a retirement home for a group of ‘theatricals’ run by the indomitable Mrs Kidd.
Margot Buchanan has reached a ‘landmark’ birthday and has no wish to celebrate the fact. The other residents have other ideas though and intend her to have a memorable one.
Her friend, Freda, has psychic powers and is often in touch with ‘the other side’. Margot’s ex husband, Sir Leo Buchanan, pops in to wish her Happy Birthday and to avoid the paparazzi after they have discovered his latest lover is young actress with whom he is working. Add to this the fact that his current wife, Judy, is also visiting Margot along with Sadie Croft, the said young actress and all manner of chaos ensues.
For good measure a rather persistent Kiss-o-gram arrives in the guise of Superman.
The cast is:
Freda Deacon - Jean Starbuck
Margot Buchanan - Marjory Soar
Mrs. Kidd – Amanda Johnson
(This is Amanda’s debut with the group)
Sadie – Ailsa Pearce
(Ailsa is a member of the Radcliffe-on-Trent Drama Group)
Lady Buchanan – Di Jackson
Leo Buchanan – Geoff Soar
Superman – Mick Quinn
Director – Len Jackson
The play will be staged
Tuesday 23rd – Saturday 27th February 2010
in East Bridgford Village Hall at 7.30 each evening.
Tickets are £6 (concessions £5 Tuesday and Wednesday only) and are obtainable
from Michael Clarke (01949 20682),
East Bridgford News, and East Bridgford Post Office
or any member of the group.
